(July 25, 2006)--The Green Eggs and CAM Awards, a closing celebration of Contemporary Art Month, is 7 p.m., Sunday, July 30 at the Cameo Theatre, 1123 E. Commerce St., in downtown San Antonio. Award presenters will be San Antonio artists, including UTSA students and faculty.
According to Leslie Raymond, UTSA assistant professor of new media and an organizer of the awards event, the public can vote online for the People's Choice Award that will be presented at the July 30 ceremony. The People's Choice and Artists' Choice awards are given to San Antonio artists who exhibited their works during CAM.
Through July 29, vote at the Green Eggs and CAM Web site. CAM artists can vote at the site for the Artists' Choice award.
Admission to Green Eggs and CAM is $7, $5 for students. Before 5:30 p.m., pay what you wish.
Pre-ceremony activities begin at 2 p.m. with a video lounge, outside café, film screenings, an art exhibition and live music by Arma Musical and Joy Evans. The ceremony will include an egg-eating contest and kudos to the best dressed of the night. Post-ceremony entertainment will be provided by Bunnyphonic, Savior Daughters and Mechanical Robot Walking Boy with DJ Justin Boyd and VJ FutureWorkerGirl.
