UTSA Staff Council establishes scholarships

(July 5, 2006)--The UTSA Staff Council announces the establishment of the Staff Council Scholarships.
Classified and administrative and professional employees are encouraged to apply for the scholarships. The first scholarships will be awarded for fall 2006 to one undergraduate and one graduate student at $250 for each scholarship.

The application deadline for fall 2006 scholarships is Friday, July 21.
Staff Council members raised scholarship funds by selling bottled water at the UTSA commencement ceremonies in May. It was the first such fundraising event by the organization, and will be repeated at upcoming graduation ceremonies and other events to ensure the continuation of the scholarships.
