(July 7, 2006)--The University of Washington selected Ysabel Trinidad, UTSA interim vice president for student affairs, to be vice chancellor for administration at its Tacoma campus. Trinidad's appointment is effective Sept. 1.

Trinidad replaced Rosalie Ambrosino, who recently was named UTSA provost and vice president for academic affairs. While a search is conducted for a permanent replacement, UTSA President Ricardo Romo soon will announce an interim appointment.

"I am delighted for Ysabel. She will be an outstanding vice chancellor for the University of Washington," said Romo. "I am grateful for her service to UTSA, both as a business officer and student affairs administrator."

"It has been a privilege to serve UTSA during a period of tremendous growth," said Trinidad. "I will truly miss all the terrific and dedicated people whom I've worked with over the years."

As interim vice president, Trinidad oversees all areas of student affairs, including student life, the Office of Admissions, the Office of the Registrar and the Office of Student Financial Aid. She also is responsible for UTSA's Division I athletics program.

From 1997 to 2005, Trinidad served as UTSA's associate vice president for business affairs.
