(Sept. 11, 2006)--The UTSA Alumni Association will host two vacation tours next year. UTSA alumni and friends will depart San Antonio for the Tuscany region of Italy from March 8 and return March 16. Additionally, an Alaskan cruise is set for June 2-9.

In Tuscany, enjoy six nights visiting the Academy Gallery and Michelangelo's "David," a tour of the Pitti Palace's magnificent collection of Renaissance masterpieces and sample delectable wines during an included winery tour and tasting. The trip includes a sweep of the historic, medieval cities of Siena, Pisa and Lucca, along with a guided tour of historic Assisi and the Basilica of St. Francis.

Learn more about the Tuscany tour in an information session at 6 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 20 in the Business Building University Room (2.06.04), 1604 Campus.

The tour through Alaska's Inside Passage on the beautiful Golden Princess cruise ship runs June 2-9. Departing from Seattle, Wash., the cruise goes to Juneau, Skagway and Ketchikan, Alaska, and on to Victoria, British Columbia, before returning to Seattle. Airfare to Seattle is not included.

Alaska is a natural showplace of snow-capped mountains, sparkling waterfalls and dazzling white glaciers. Watch as humpback whales and playful dolphins dart in and out of the rolling seascape, and marvel as eagles soar from lofty nests to feed on salmon that have returned home to spawn.

Learn more about the Alaska cruise in the information session at 6 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 19 in John Peace Library Building Room 4.03.12, 1604 Campus.
