(Oct. 4, 2006)--This week, the UTSA Department of English, Classics and Philosophy and UTSA Friends of Shakespeare host the 20th visit to UTSA of Actors from the London Stage.

The touring ensemble of five British actors will perform Shakespeare's "Hamlet" at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 4; Friday, Oct. 6 and Saturday, Oct. 7 in the Arts Building Recital Hall on the 1604 Campus.

The actors from prestigious companies such as the Royal Shakespeare Company, the Royal National Theatre of Great Britain and Shakespeare's Globe Theatre are Geoffrey Beevers, Robert Mountford, Anna Northam, Richard Stacy and Terence Wilton. Placing emphasis on the richness of Shakespeare's language, the performers play multiple roles in a production that utilizes simple costumes and minimal scenery.

Tickets are $18, $10 for students with ID, and are available at the University Center information desk, 1604 Campus. Tickets also will be available at the door.

For more information or group bookings, call (210) 458-5358.

Actors From the London Stage is an international touring theater organization based at the University of Notre Dame. It combines the superb talents of professional actors onstage with rare opportunities for students to work with them in the classroom. The actors visit selected American universities each year to perform and to conduct classes and workshops. The residency is supported by UTSA Friends of Shakespeare and a grant from the Russell Hill Rogers Fund for the Arts.
