UTSA hosts Oct. 18 showing of toll-road documentary

(Oct. 16, 2006)--The UTSA Graduate Political Science Association will host a screening of the documentary, "Truth Be Tolled," by independent filmmaker William Molina from 7 to 10 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 18 in Main Building Room 0.106 on the 1604 Campus. The event is free and open to the public.

RSS FeedsThe film focuses on the Texas Department of Transportation's plans to convert existing Texas roadways into tollways, as well as the proposed Trans-Texas Corridor project. Molina tackled the hot-button issue because he felt politicians and the media were not adequately addressing it.
The four-month project was compiled from more than 40 hours of footage from public toll-road meetings held in San Antonio and surrounding areas.
The film features interviews with anti-toll road organizations and addresses recently passed state tolling laws. Molina said that while his film makes a political statement, it was not funded by any politician or political organization.
Molina has spent more than 15 years directing and developing movies and television shows for the Discovery and History channels and currently lives in Los Angeles and San Antonio.
