
Department of Music starts holiday season with cabaret

(Nov. 22, 2006)--The UTSA Department of Music invites San Antonio to usher in the season with the annual Holiday Cabaret opening Thursday, Nov. 30 at the University Center Laurel Room (2.01.28) on the 1604 Campus.
The variety show begins Thursday, Nov. 30 with the President's Opening Night Performance and continues Friday, Dec. 1 and Saturday, Dec. 2 with general attendance performances.

The holiday variety show will feature an emcee, holiday sing-a-longs and a student-led cabaret kick-line. From the traditional "White Christmas" to the not-so-traditional "Boar's Head," a medieval English carol, the performance will feature music from the holiday traditions of various cultures throughout the years.
The President's Opening Night Performance is Thursday, November 30 with a reception at 6:30 p.m., followed by a seated dinner. Proceeds from the event will benefit UTSA music students.
Tickets for the President's Opening Night Performance start at $125 for individual seats and $1,000 per table. The reservation deadline for the opening performance is Monday, Nov. 27. For reservations, call (210) 458-5140 or e-mail rsvppresident@utsa.edu.
General attendance performances are 7:30 p.m., Friday, Dec. 1 and Saturday, Dec. 2. Guests will enjoy a catered buffet. Tickets for the general attendance performances are $30 with a Nov. 28 reservation deadline. For reservations, call (210) 458-4357.
