Redesigned UTSA Web site to provide more information
(Dec. 21, 2006)--Efforts are underway for a redesign of the UTSA home page and secondary pages. Scheduled for launch in spring 2007, the design effort will result in a site that is easier to use and has more information.
"As UTSA strives to become a premier public research university, the foundation of the university Web site should support these aspirations," said Craig Evans, director of Web and multimedia services. "We need to position ourselves to tell the UTSA story more effectively to our audience."

The current site has been in place since August 2003 and features a list-style approach to navigation from the main page. The new site will have a more content-driven design with special emphasis on feature stories, news, calendar listings and general information about UTSA.
"The current navigation scheme has served us well," said Evans, "but, with the continued growth and diversity of UTSA Web sites, the list approach has become burdensome to our audiences, so we will modify the navigation structure."
To kick off the project, an online survey has been created with links from the UTSA home and secondary pages. Input on perceptions of the current UTSA Web site is encouraged from the UTSA community, alumni and friends.
Results from the survey will be used to plan the next-generation Web presence for the university.
