Student Leader of the Month: Shannon Neal shows dedication

(Dec. 12, 2006)--The UTSA Office of Student Activities announces the selection of Shannon Neal as the LeadUTSA Student Leader of the Month for November.
Neal was selected because of the leadership she has demonstrated as student coordinator of the Outdoor Pursuits program in Campus Recreation. She has worked with the program for two years, and has shown great dedication.

Last month, she represented UTSA at the Association of Outdoor Recreation and Education national conference and earned American Canoe water instruction certification.
Neal also has been instrumental in developing the Women's Climbing Initiative program, which introduces women at UTSA to the fun and adventurous sport of rock climbing.
Congratulations, Shannon, and thank you for being such an active member of the UTSA community.
