Featured films are "Kids Return," directed by Takeshi Kitano; "Nabbie's Love," directed by Yuji Nakae and "Barren Illusion," directed by Kiyoshi Kurosawa. See the film schedule below.

The Japan Foundation in New York selected UTSA, Duke University, Northeastern State University, Sewanee University of the South and University of Florida as hosting institutions in the southern region for the 2007 Japanese Film Festival showings.

The foundation's New York office organizes the annual film series in which Japanese films are screened at educational and cultural institutions across the United States. The series provides the opportunity to learn more about Japanese culture through its rich film history.
