March 3 storytelling festival to include workshops

(March 1, 2007)--The UTSA Department of Interdisciplinary Learning and Teaching will host the third annual Storytelling Festival from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Saturday, March 3 at the 1604 Campus Main Building ground floor. The morning session is free and open to the public.

The event will feature professional storytellers and workshops with a range of topics including "How to Tell Stories" and "Storytelling in the Classroom." Renowned Choctaw storyteller Tim Tingle will deliver the keynote address, "Storytelling as a Vehicle for Change."
Additional afternoon workshops will be available including "Collecting Our Studies: Pride In Preserving," taught by Tingle and "Eight Steps to Storytelling Success" led by Jo Anne Ollerenshaw.
Registration for the afternoon workshops is $25. Pre-registration for afternoon sessions is required and continuing education units are available.
