'Fiesta Under the Stars' offers night at the Oscars

(April 26, 2007)--The UTSA Department of Music will host the 22nd annual "Fiesta Under the Stars" music scholarship fundraiser with the theme "A Night At the Oscars." The official Fiesta San Antonio event is 7:30 p.m., Friday, April 27 at Sombrilla Plaza on the 1604 Campus.

UTSA music faculty and student ensembles will perform music from award-winning and nominated movies throughout the years. Performance pieces will include "The Way We Were" and "When You Wish Upon A Star."
A silent auction will include tickets for two on Southwest Airlines, a private winery tour for six from Bell Mountain Vineyards and a Hannspree 15-inch LCD TV from Bjorn's Audio Video and Home Theater. Additional items include hotel stays at the Menger Hotel and rounds of golf at Tapatio Springs Resort.
For reservations, advance ticket purchases or table sponsorships, call (210) 458-4357. Admission is $30 for catered dinner and reserved seating; $8 for general admission and $5 for students with ID, military members and seniors. Children under 5 are free.
General admission patrons can purchase tickets at the door and are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and ice chests.
