Sexual health and substance abuse information, live entertainment, food and music will be provided free to attendees. The event will feature manicures, massages, make-up tips, a tote bag decorating competition and fashion show.
The special event reaches out to UTSA women to help educate them on sexual health and substance abuse issues.
According to RAINN (Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network), one in six American women has been the victim of rape or attempted rape. In 2003-2004, more than 204,000 were victims of rape, attempted rape or sexual assault.
SHADES works to influence students to engage in responsible practices that help avoid consequences associated with substance use and abuse and unsafe sexual health practices.
