The University of Texas at San Antonio
A Message from President Ricardo Romo
April 17, 2007
To the UTSA community:
Yesterday, a terrible tragedy occurred at Virginia Tech University, unlike any ever experienced in our nation. We send our heart-felt thoughts and prayers to the Virginia Tech community and the families and loved ones affected.
Our thoughts also turn to our students, faculty and staff. This tragedy reminds us that there are some things in life that we cannot control. But, what we can do is remember our sense of community, and demonstrate our concern and compassion for each other.
As we think about the well-being of all, please keep in mind the resources we have available for the UTSA community:
- The UTSA Police Department is available at (210) 458-4242 on a 24-hour basis to assist with any safety and security concerns.
- Counseling Services is available at (210) 458-4140 (1604 Campus) and (210) 458-2930 (Downtown Campus).
- For any other concerns or questions, call University Communications at (210) 458-4550.
Through our care and concern for others the healing process can begin.
President, The University of Texas at San Antonio
