Inspections, gas shutdown to affect campuses

(May 9, 2007)--Inspections of fire alarms, air handling units, elevators and smoke detectors will be conducted between May 14 and July 2 at the 1604 Campus, including the Child Development Center. The inspections and tests will be May 15-17 at the Downtown Campus.
Additionally, a gas utility shutdown at the UTSA 1604 Campus is scheduled for 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, May 19.

Alarm inspections including audio and visual tests will be after 10 p.m. Other inspections may begin as early as 7 a.m. Chisholm Hall and Activity Center inspections will be coordinated with residence hall staff.
The gas shutdown is necessary to connect gas to the new emergency generator adjacent to the Convocation Center. Hot water will be interrupted during the shutdown in the Physical Education Building, University Center, Chaparral Village and laboratories on the west side of the 1604 Campus.
