(May 4, 2007)--UTSA Parking and Transportation Services will offer limited public parking May 4-5 during San Antonio's Cinco de Mayo celebration. Public parking will be available 5 p.m.-11 p.m., Friday, May and 10 a.m.-11 p.m., Saturday, May 5.

Lots available to the public will be D1 and D2 under Interstate 35 and the Cattlemans Square lot. UTSA offered public parking during Fiesta in the same lots last month. The daily public parking rate during designated times will be $10 per vehicle, paid upon entry.
Vehicles displaying a valid UTSA or UTHSCSA parking permit can park for free in the designated lots, but permit holders are encouraged to park in the Durango Loop or Monterey Building lots during festivities to avoid traffic congestion. Garage parking requires a garage permit at all times.
Staffing these lots for public parking will allow for better control of our campus parking resources, and revenues from Cinco de Mayo parking will be used to offset the cost of Downtown Campus parking lot lease costs.
