(May 24, 2007)--VIA Metropolitan Transit, the City of San Antonio and partner organizations will host a public meeting at the UTSA Downtown Campus Buena Vista Theater (1.326) at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 6 to discuss the creation of a multimodal transportation center on the city's near West Side.

The purpose of the meeting is to discuss a feasibility study on the transportation center, introduce alternatives and seek public comment on the project. Local government agencies, community stakeholders, private sector interests, transportation providers and citizens are encouraged to attend and offer input.
The proposed multimodal transportation center would serve as a hub for various modes of transportation, creating seamless service and transition among bus rapid transit, inner-city bus service, street cars, taxi service and the anticipated Austin-San Antonio commuter rail line.
The meeting is free and open to the public. Parking is available under Interstate 35 across from the campus and in the UTSA Cattleman Square lot (see map at left).
