On Oct. 23, 2006, Gateway issued a recall for some batteries manufactured by Sony. These battery packs were shipped from September 2005 through October 2006. In both cases, not all laptops were affected, and consumers are urged to check their battery part numbers to determine if they are affected.
According to Linda Dunn, UTSA Help Desk manager, the Help Desk has received a list of serial numbers and will attempt to determine which UTSA departments purchased PCs on the list.
