(Aug. 21, 2007)--As part of UTSA Roadrunner Days, a series of events to help new students connect with each other and UTSA, the UTSA Night of Comedy will feature "Saturday Night Live" comic Finesse Mitchell and "Last Comic Standing" comic Kristin Key from 8 to 10 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 22 in the Recreation Center at the 1604 Campus.

The special event is free and open to the UTSA community. Students are invited to bring blankets, pillows and cushions for general floor seating. Because of adult content in the comedy material, participant discretion is advised.

Long before Finesse Mitchell became a cast member on "Saturday Night Live," he made quite an impact in the world of stand-up comedy. His wit, Southern charm and stage presence makes him one of the brightest young stars on the comedy horizon. Born and raised in Atlanta, Ga., he is a graduate of the University of Miami.

As a former student-athlete (a walk-on for the University of Miami Hurricane football team), he played two years with other Hurricane alumni including Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Warren Sapp. He is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity and says playing football and performing in college step shows helped him feel comfortable performing. Mitchell's first television appearance on BET's "Comic View" in 1999 brought him a loyal following. He is a guest writer and has a column in the works for Essence magazine.

Kristin Key from "Last Comic Standing" is a favorite on the nationally broadcast "Bob and Tom Show" and has done specials on Sirius and XM Radio as well as radio shows including "National Lampoon Comedy" and "The Comedy Channel."

All UTSA students are encouraged to participate in UTSA Roadrunner Days events throughout the week. The events give new students opportunities to preview UTSA campus life, find their way around the campuses, learn how to get involved, learn about resources to ease the transition to college and experience the excitement of the growing UTSA campuses.
