UTSA students invited to 'Dive Into the UC'

(Aug. 16, 2007)--Students can visit the various offices in the University Center during an open house from 4 to 6 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 19 to learn about the services provided and earn a dive into the UC backpack. At 8 p.m., there will be a free showing of the film "Snakes on a Plane" in the Retama Auditorium (2.02.02).

The University Center, your campus living room, invites you for food, fun and games before the semester starts with a chance to visit Alumni Programs, Career Services, Chartwells, Counseling Services, Student Activities, Student Judicial Affairs, Student Life, Tomas Rivera Center and the UTSA Bookstore.

4-6 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 19 (east wing)

  • Free ice cream provided by the Office of Inclusion and Community Engagement
  • Paper Airplane Contest hosted by Alumni Programs, Career Services and Student Judicial Affairs in the Retama galleria
  • UTSA Bookstore offers $10-off coupon with a $49 purchase (books not included) and drawing for a free mountain bike.
  • Games provided by the University Center, under the stairs across from the bookstore

4-6 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 19 (west wing)

  • Free food provided by Chartwells in the UC Grill
  • Karaoke, Name That Tune Contest and Dance Workshop in the UC Ski Lodge
  • Parachute Men Drop Contest hosted by the Tomas Rivera Center at the Ski Lodge
  • The Roost game room opens with billiards, video games and foosball

6-8 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 19

  • Free Movie: "Snakes on a Plane" with free popcorn, Retama Auditorium (2.02.02)
