(Sept. 7, 2007)--The Phi Sigma Pi national honor fraternity comes to UTSA this semester. Because of outstanding academic achievement by more than 3,300 students, the national organization chartered a new UTSA chapter.
For more information on becoming a founding member of the UTSA honor fraternity, students are invited to a meeting at 6 p.m., Monday, Sept. 10 in the Business Building University Room (2.06.04) on the 1604 Campus.
Eligible students must have completed 12 credit hours, have a 3.0 G.P.A. and have at least two remaining semesters as an undergraduate.
The coed organization mixes the best elements of an honor society, service and social fraternity with a focus on scholarship, leadership and fellowship with activities including academic programs, leadership opportunities, service projects and social gatherings. The group is a gathering place for well-rounded people who like to stay connected with their studies, their community and their potential.
For students unable to attend the information meeting, e-mail the Phi Sigma Pi national office or contact Charlin Jones at (210) 458-4160.
