UTSA hosts tech entrepreneurship boot camp

(Oct. 10, 2007)--G.P. Singh, founder of Karta Technologies, will headline the UTSA Center for Innovation and Technology Entrepreneurship (CITE) Jackson Walker Technology Entrepreneurship Boot Camp from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday, Oct. 12 in Biotechnology, Sciences and Engineering Building Room 2.106 on the UTSA 1604 Campus.
The daylong event will feature presentations on fundamental entrepreneurship topics including opportunity identification, business plan basics, intellectual property and the UT System, and funding a technology start-up. The event will conclude with a panel discussion on funding start-ups and a networking reception.
The semi-annual event is open to the public. Registration is free for UTSA students, $20 for UTSA employees and $40 for community members. Register at the Entrepreneurship Boot Camp Web site.

Scheduled speakers include Lynda de La Viña, dean of the UTSA College of Business, Jill Dickman from the SBDC Technology Center, Cory Hallam, director of the Center for Innovation and Technology Entrepreneurship, Jim Poage, president and chief executive officer of the San Antonio Technology Accelerator Initiative (SATAI), and Raymond Teske, UTSA College of Business faculty member.
The Center for Innovation and Technology Entrepreneurship, a joint venture of the UTSA Colleges of Business and Engineering, focuses on fostering the growth of entrepreneurs and new technology-based ventures through a process of education, experiences, resources and support.
