UTSA Police Department hosts food drive

(Nov. 12, 2007)--Through Nov. 16, the UTSA Police Department will host a food drive for Thanksgiving and through the December holidays for the San Antonio Food Bank.

"We are asking everyone to help those who are less fortunate at Thanksgiving and beyond," said Joseph Lobrutto , UTSA police officer. "Many families struggle to provide for their families and wish they could do more."

The San Antonio Food Bank cannot accept items in glass containers. These are the most need items:

  • peanut butter
  • cereal
  • tuna
  • beans
  • rice
  • canned soup, chili, stew, luncheon meat (pop-top items)
  • macaroni and cheese boxed dinners
  • complete meals in a can or box
