A Thanksgiving Message from President Ricardo Romo
November 16, 2007
Dear UTSA Friends,
As we celebrate Thanksgiving, I think about a saying I read recently... Our lives are not determined by what happens to us but by how we react to what happens, not by what life brings to us, but by the attitude we bring to life.
- La Prensa Foundation is newest member of UTSA Lone Star Society
- UTSA alumna Jordan Kaufmann wins $50K for new stent-graft start-up
- UTSA begins new way-finding sign installation this summer at Main Campus
- USA Today: UTSA long jumper Tyler Williamson rescues three-year-old boy
Throughout the year and particularly during the holiday season, I see many UTSA community members involved in charitable projects to bring more brightness to the lives of those who are less fortunate than we are. During UTSA's recent State Employee Charitable Campaign, our university again demonstrated record efforts to help those around us.
It is inspiring to see so many individuals and groups working to help make the world a better place. Thanks to everyone for your contributions to the community and to UTSA.
Harriett and I wish each of you a joyous and peaceful Thanksgiving. Please enjoy the company of your loved ones, be careful if you're traveling and take time to reflect on the many blessings for which we can be thankful.
President, The University of Texas at San Antonio
