Larson has served San Antonio and Bexar County as an elected official since 1991. He was a two-term city councilman in District 10 and was elected Bexar County Commissioner for Precinct 3 in 1996. He represents 13 suburban cities and more than 450,000 county constituents.
Bexar County citizens will decide May 10 whether or not to extend the visitors tax, a hotel-occupancy and car-rental tax that is used to pay for projects in the community intended to increase tourism. If passed, UTSA would benefit with a $15 million allocation for a proposed athletics complex. At the breakfast, Larson will outline his views on the potential positive effects of the tax extension.
Admission to the Connections Breakfast is $20 for UTSA Alumni Association members and UTSA students, and $25 for non-members. Breakfast is at 7:45 a.m. with the program beginning at 8 a.m.
