(April 15, 2008)--UTSA and city leaders will deliver a Fiesta safe-driving message at a press conference at 10 a.m., Wednesday, April 16 at Bill Miller Plaza on the UTSA Downtown Campus.

"¿Tomas? O ¿Manejas? Drinking? Or Driving?" is a community initiative created by the Circles of San Antonio Community Coalition and the Bexar County DWI Taskforce that advocates responsible use of alcohol at Fiesta celebrations.

San Antonio community leaders will gather to deliver a safety message, including UTSA Downtown Campus Vice Provost Jesse T. Zapata, District Attorney Susan Reed, Police Chief William McManus, President of the Fiesta Commission and Chairman of Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission John T. Steen Jr., UTSA Police Chief David Hernandez, San Antonio Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse Board President Allan Du Bois, Bexar County DWI Taskforce Member Mike Davis and Circles of San Antonio Community Coalition Chair Lizette Villarreal.

Fiesta San Antonio runs April 18-27. A signature event for the city with parades, festivals, athletics events and charitable opportunities, Fiesta celebrates Texas winning independence from Mexico at the Battle of San Jacinto on April 21, 1836.
