Both stores will include new display fixtures, carpeting, paint, tile and cherry wood trim throughout. The 1604 Campus bookstore will include chairs and tables where students can congregate.
Both facilities will remain open during renovation. At the Downtown Campus, there will limited service in front of the store during the work. At the 1604 Campus, the remodeling will be done in two phases with at least half of the store open to allow for sales.
"Function and appearance will be of equal importance in the major renovations," said Jane Wilcox, UTSA director of business auxiliary services. "Students, faculty and staff will enjoy shopping for university-related clothing, gifts, best-selling books and many other new items. We invite everyone to come in and browse."
