New Web site: Learn about Roadrunner Days

By Barry McKinney
Director of Student Activities

(July 13, 2008)--UTSA students, faculty and staff can learn all about Roadrunner Days at a new Web site. Running Aug. 22-29, Roadrunner Days is the official kick-off for the new school year with a wide selection of free, fun and spirited events to welcome new and returning students with a look at campus life.

Highlights of this year's activities include a comedy concert by Caroline Rhea (from "The Biggest Loser," "Sabrina the Teenage Witch" and "The Caroline Rhea Show") and a shared movie viewing experience, "Lights! Camera! Action! Project Roadrunner Success." The shared viewing experience is an opportunity for students to watch a movie and then engage in an in-depth discussion about it.

The week also includes "Cultural Connections" receptions where students from various backgrounds or shared cultures can meet.

The week's events give new students opportunities to preview UTSA campus life, learn about resources to ease the transition to college, experience the excitement of the growing campuses and meet other new students.

Returning students will enjoy many of the activities as well and are welcome to participate in these free events. Faculty and staff also are invited to attend most of the events.
