(Sept. 19, 2008)--UTSA Student Health Services will host "Tu Vida, Tu Salud (Your Life, Your Health)," a program to inform the UTSA community about important health issues from 6:30 to 9 p.m., Monday, Sept. 22 in the University Center III ballroom on the 1604 Campus. With a focus on students, the event is free and open to the UTSA community.

As part of National Hispanic Heritage Month, "Tu Vida, Tu Salud" will offer information on wellness, diabetes, sexual health, and alcohol and drug use. Representatives from Planned Parenthood will be on hand to answer questions, and there will be information on UTSA health services, and HIV/AIDS and other health topics, along with free glucose and B.M.I. testing and a voter registration table.

David "DJ Caliente" Rodriguez will provide music, and there will be free food and other giveaways.

The event is co-sponsored by the UTSA student organization SHADES (Sexual Health, Alcohol and Drug Education for Students), the Inclusion and Community Engagement Center and Counseling Services.
