
Business college hosts panel on financial meltdown

(Oct. 3, 2008)--In response to the recent economic crisis, the UTSA College of Business will host a panel presentation, "Addressing the Financial Meltdown," at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7 in the Business Building Richard S. Liu Auditorium (2.01.02) on the UTSA 1604 Campus.

Economics and finance faculty members from the nationally ranked and recognized UTSA College of Business will discuss the nature of the financial crisis, the cause of the meltdown, consequences for the U.S. and global economies, and implications for the average consumer.
The discussion will be moderated by Lynda de la Viña, dean of the College of Business. Panelists will include Professor Palani-Rajan Kadapakkam, U.S. Global Investors Inc. Fellow in Finance; Professor Lalatendu Misra, U.S. Global Investors Inc. Fellow in Finance; Tom Thomson, director of the Real Estate Finance and Development program; John Wald, associate professor of finance; and Ken Weiher, chair of the Department of Economics.
