A Thanksgiving Message from President Ricardo Romo
November 24, 2008
Dear UTSA Friends,
As we approach the holiday season, I'm reminded of a quote from Nobel prize winner Elie Wiesel, "Peace is our gift to each other." This time of year, we're particularly mindful of giving to others and how fortunate we are to have our families and friends.

When I think about UTSA, I picture an open, friendly hand reaching out to colleagues, students and the community. Every day I see many UTSA community members who give their time and energy to help those less fortunate. During UTSA's recent State Employee Charitable Campaign, our university again demonstrated record efforts to give back and help those around us. Thanks to everyone for your contributions to the community and to UTSA.
Harriett and I wish each of you a peaceful and joyous Thanksgiving and holiday season. We hope you enjoy the company of your loved ones, are careful on the road and reflect on the many blessings for which we can be thankful.
Before leaving for the holidays, let's offer a friendly hand to each other and the gift of peace.
Best wishes,
Ricardo Romo
President, The University of Texas at San Antonio
