Meet 70s TV star BernNadette Stanis at UTSA Feb. 6

(Feb. 5, 2009)--As part of Black History Month, UTSA student organizations Men of Honor, Women of Honor and Black Men United for Reading and Writing will host "A Morning with BernNadette Stanis" from 10:30 a.m. to noon, Friday, Feb. 6 in the University Center Denman Room (2.01.28) on the 1604 Campus. Stanis portrayed Thelma Evans in the 1970s TV series "Good Times." The event is free and open to the public.

Additionally, the UTSA Department of English will present "A Cultural Extravaganza" from 4 to 7 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 7 in the Main Building Main Auditorium (0.104) on the 1604 Campus.
Free and open to the public, the evening will celebrate the musical, literary and artistic beauty of African Americans. The event is sponsored by Sonja Lanehart (UTSA professor and holder of the Brackenridge Endowed Chair in Literature and the Humanities), Myra Davis Hemming Resource Center, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Women of Honor and Men of Honor.
