By Jennifer Lilly

(April 16, 2009)--UTSA Volunteer Appreciation Day is 1-3 p.m., Tuesday, April 21 at the University Center paseo on the Main Campus. Hosted by the UTSA Inclusion and Community Engagement Center, the event is to thank UTSA students, faculty and staff involved in volunteer activities.

UTSA community members who volunteered for one hour or dozens of hours during the past year are invited to celebrate with music, ice cream and giveaways. The event occurs during National Volunteer Appreciation Week.

The UTSA United to Serve event was April 4, which recognized more than 300 students, faculty, and staff members who volunteered at 14 projects across the city ranging from the Special Pets Special People adoption event, to sorting items at the San Antonio Food Bank, to painting handrails at the San Antonio State School.

Thanks go to the UTSA volunteers who helped make the event a huge success.
