Summer heat strains Main Campus cooling system

By Victoria O'Connor
Communications and Customer Relations Representative, Office of Facilities

(June 12, 2009)--The UTSA Office of Facilities anticipates a heavy demand on the Main Campus central cooling system over the next few days because of the unusually warm weather. As a result, building temperatures may feel slightly warmer during the afternoon, which are peak hours for cooling.

Facilities staff will continue to maintain comfortable working environments and critical-space standards in these buildings or offices:

  • Biotechnology, Sciences and Engineering Building (including the Vivarium)
  • Biosciences Building (including the Vivarium)
  • Biosciences Building BSL3 Lab
  • UTSA Police Department
  • Office of Information Technology
  • John Peace Library Building Computer Center
