James "Doug" Lipscomb
UTSA facilities office names architect, planning and development director
(June 15, 2009)--The UTSA Office of Facilities announces the hiring of James "Doug" Lipscomb as director of facility planning and development and university architect. He will begin at UTSA June 29.

In his role as university architect, Lipscomb will provide recommendations and assist in ensuring consistency with the new UTSA master plan and architectural standards, and will be the primary facilities point of contact for the UTSA Capital Improvement Plan with the UT System and Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.
Lipscomb also will lead facilities planning activities to ensure the effective establishment of capital improvement, deferred maintenance and renovation projects. He will play an important role in the planned development of the institution.
Lipscomb is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a bachelor of architecture degree, and he holds a master of architecture degree from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design. He is a registered architect with more than 20 years of experience, and has worked for the last five years for the San Antonio firm Marmon Mok Architects. Lipscomb also worked for several other top architectural firms in San Antonio and Massachusetts.
