University Center event showcase July 17 to highlight event resources

(July 8, 2009)--The UTSA Office of Events Management and Conference Services (EMCS) will host the UTSA Event Showcase from 2 to 4 p.m., Friday, July 17 in the UTSA Main Campus Ballroom (1.104). Free and open to the UTSA community, the event is aimed at event and meeting planners. The showcase will offer information on the food, décor and planning resources available for meetings and special events -- including weddings.

Visitors at the special event can see the new ballroom set up in various ways to highlight the many types of events that EMCS and UTSA Dining Services can provide on campus.

"Whether you are planning an end-of-year banquet, conference with break-out sessions or a simple morning meeting with snacks, you will see how it can come together from food to décor at our first event showcase," said Nikki Lee, EMCS associate director.

Since the ballroom's opening, EMCS has arranged many lighting and décor options to enhance University Center-based events. Dramatic lighted screens, columns, linens and centerpieces are available for rental and were selected to complement the ballroom's elegant and contemporary style. These items will be on display during the showcase.

"EMCS and Dining Services have the tools to make your event a successful one," said Lee. "We look forward to seeing you at the showcase and learning how we can be of assistance."
