(Aug. 3, 2009)--The UTSA Graduate School will offer Aug. 10-13 information sessions across South Texas. Graduate recruiters, along with graduate admissions and financial aid staff members will travel to Brownsville, McAllen, Laredo and Corpus Christi to promote UTSA's graduate programs.
UTSA's commitment to provide access to educational excellence was a key factor in developing the South Texas information sessions. The sessions will provide prospective students with opportunities to discuss program requirements, graduate admissions procedures and financial assistance. As an added incentive, the Graduate School will waive the application fee for students who apply at the sessions.
"Many graduate students work and have families, so we thought we would take the UTSA graduate experience to them," said German Medina, graduate school admissions officer. "We have gotten a great response, so we urge people to sign up early because space is limited."
For more than 10 years, UTSA has actively recruited students from South Texas and continues its efforts to increase diversity on the UTSA campuses. Many new graduate programs incorporate an aggressive recruiting component to continue to attract more minority students.
As UTSA continues its success in recruiting students from South Texas, increasing the numbers of them who are becoming members of the UTSA alumni family.
