(Sept. 4, 2009)--The University of Texas at San Antonio College of Business has been ranked the No. 1 graduate business school in the nation for Hispanics by Hispanic Business magazine in its September 2009 edition.

"We are honored to be recognized by Hispanic Business," said Lynda de la Viņa, dean of the UTSA College of Business and Peter Flawn Professor of Economics. "This ranking speaks to the quality of our academic programming and the services that we provide our MBA students and for our community. It elevates the college into the upper echelon of business schools in the nation."

This is the second year UTSA was included in the listing and the 12th year Hispanic Business conducted the study. The rankings (in order) included UTSA, UT-El Paso, University of Miami, UT-Austin, Stanford University, University of New Mexico, Dartmouth College, Florida International University, University of California at Berkeley and University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Hispanic Business ranked the top 10 business schools nationally based on a number of criteria illustrating commitment to diversity including enrollment of Hispanics, percentage of full-time Hispanic faculty members, student support services, graduation rates and graduate program reputation. The ranking also included the top universities in medicine, law and engineering.

The UTSA College of Business offers a comprehensive business curriculum at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels. The college's M.B.A. program was ranked No. 3 in the Southwest and No. 26 nationwide by BusinessWeek. Additional M.B.A. accolades include being named one of the top 10 M.B.A. programs for minority students by the Princeton Review for the past four years and receiving the Brillante Award for Educational Excellence from the National Society of Hispanic M.B.A's.

Nationally ranked and recognized, the UTSA College of Business is accredited by AACSB International, The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. It is one of the 40 largest business schools in the nation with 5,800 enrolled students and 47 graduate and undergraduate business programs.
