(Sept. 9, 2009)--With the start of the new school year, the Institute of Texan Cultures at UTSA's HemisFair Park Campus is implementing changes to enhance visitor experiences. Effective immediately, the institute's street address is 801 E. Durango Blvd. Starting Monday, Sept. 21, the institute will be open Mondays with the opportunity for guests to visit seven days a week.

UTSA students, faculty and staff receive free admission to the institute with their UTSACards. The UTSA community is encouraged to take advantage of educational resources and research materials available through the institute's library, historic photo archive and exhibits, as well as the UTSA Library Archives and Special Collections, also located at the HemisFair Park Campus facility.

The new 801 E. Durango Blvd. address will lead visitors to the museum's guest parking lot and other HemisFair Park attractions.

Opening the institute on Mondays will allow it to reach a broader audience and will include holidays such as Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Memorial Day. The institute will welcome walk-in guests and self-guided tours from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at regular admission rates. Guest services, such as the store and library, will be available. Groups can book now for guided Monday tours starting March 1, 2010.

The Institute of Texan Cultures is on the UTSA HemisFair Park Campus, a short distance from the Alamo and the River Walk. Hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Saturday and noon-5 p.m., Sunday. Admission is $8 for adults (ages 12-64); $7 for seniors (ages 65 and up); $6 for children (ages 3-11) and free with membership, UTSA or Alamo Colleges identification.

For more information on hours, holidays, group tours and services, call (210) 458-2300 or visit the Institute of Texan Cultures Web site.
