UTSA Indian Students Association hosts evening of India culture Oct. 31
(Oct. 28, 2009)--The UTSA Indian Students Association (ISA) will host a celebration of India culture, "Diwali Night," at 5:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 31 in the Arts Building Recital Hall (2.03.02) on the Main Campus.
The event will celebrate the rich heritage and diversity of India, Indian cinema and cultural traditions with performances in the "retro" theme by young Indian students. There also will be music, activities and traditional Indian cuisine.
Tickets for the event are $12, $10 for UTSA students, and are available at the Main Campus at tables in the John Peace Library Building food court and the breezeway between the Business Building and Humanities and Social Sciences Building, or by calling (210) 601-9222.
Formed in spring 2007, the Indian Students Association has more than 160 student members with faculty advisers Jyotsan Sharma (research assistant professor of biology), Amar Bhalla, (research professor of electrical engineering) and Ashlesh Murthy, (research assistant professor of biology).
