Help is needed: Volunteer to assist at Rock 'n Roll marathon Nov. 15
(Oct. 22, 2009)--Volunteers are needed to help run a water station with fellow UTSA employees and students -- and to cheer on the 56 UTSA runners that will compete in this year's "Rock 'N Roll Marathon and Half Marathon" on Nov. 15.
"We need 100 volunteers to help on race day, so encourage your family and friends to join in as well," said Nancy Woodward, UTSA administrative associate in the Office of Environmental Health, Safety and Risk Management.
UTSA's station is toward the end of the race -- mile 25 for those doing the marathon, mile 12 for the half-marathon. Parking will be provided for volunteers as well as bonus giveaways.
For details and to register as a volunteer, visit the "Rock 'N Roll Marathon and Half Marathon" Web site. For more information, call (210) 458-5250.
