July 23 brownbag luncheon features Haiti earthquake recovery volunteer
(July 22, 2010)--The UTSA Department of English will host a brownbag luncheon featuring Monica Dyer, vice president and co-founder of the nonprofit organization Health Empowering Humanity. She will speak at noon, Friday, July 23 in Main Building Room 2.314 on the UTSA Main Campus. Dyer will discuss her experiences in Haiti since the earthquake shook the capital city six months ago. The event is free and open to the public.
Health Empowering Humanity empowers people by facilitating access to health through community-based programs of clinical services, education and development. The organization's core principles focus on promoting health as a basic human right, developing quality community-based health programs, meeting needs with resources, and mobilizing individuals, organizations and foundations to support their work.
