(Feb. 17, 2011)--UTSA faculty members slated to lead a study abroad program this year or who plan to lead one in the 2011-2012 academic year, should attend a training workshop from 1 to 3 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 23 in the Business Building University Room (2.04.06) on the Main Campus.
Last year, UTSA sponsored more than 100 UTSA students in study-abroad programs. That number is expected to grow this year. The workshop helps ensure faculty members are better prepared for any emergency and educated on possible contingency plans in case of natural disaster, long travel delays or other unexpected circumstance. The training class will help minimize potential risk and discuss how to meet multiple challenges that can occur while working with students and programs abroad.
The sessions are co-sponsored by the Office of the Provost; Office of International Programs; Office of Environmental Health, Safety and Risk Management; Office of Legal Affairs; Office of Student Judicial Affairs and Office of Travel Management.
To reserve a seat at the faculty training workshop, contact Holly Hill, Office of International Programs, at 210-458-7204.
