UTSA Choir Camp leads in preparing high school students for state competition
(June 30, 2014) -- UTSA continues as San Antonio's summer camp destination with more than 8,500 young students participating in 23 camps in June and July.
Running this week through July 2, the UTSA Choir Camp is known across the state as a leader in the preparatory process for the Texas All-State Choir.
More than 250 high school students from across Texas will come to the choir camp, now in its 18th year. Outstanding clinicians from prominent Texas high school music programs along with UTSA's superb conductors and faculty will provide an intensive study of All-State Choir audition music. For more information, contact camp coordinator Suzie Rocha at choircamp@utsa.edu or call the UTSA Department of Music at 210-458-4354.
Camps and academies throughout the summer include science, engineering, archaeology, architecture, sports, law, music, writing and language for children and teens. Campers expand their horizons through hands-on activities and open their minds to educational opportunities. For many, it is their first experience at a top-quality institution of higher education.
Through August, UTSA Athletics will host a range of camps in baseball, basketball, soccer and softball to help kids develop their skills through practice and friendly competition in a fun and challenging environment.
