(Aug. 21, 2014) -- On Friday, Aug. 22, nearly 4,300 Roadrunners will begin moving in to UTSA's three on-campus residence halls: Chaparral Village, Laurel Village and San Saba Hall. Seventy-five percent of the students will be incoming freshmen, experiencing a home-away-from-home possibly for the first time.

Move-in Weekend officially kicks off UTSA Roadrunner Days, UTSA's annual celebration to welcome first-year students to campus.

The UTSA Office of Housing and Residence Life offers the following tips to make the move-in process as smooth as possible:

  • Go directly to the unloading area connected to your residence hall.
  • Proceed to the front office area of your hall to check in and get your UTSA ID card coded for your door.
  • Watch for move-in volunteers in bright orange t-shirts pulling big blue carts. These volunteers will help unload vehicles in a timely fashion so they can be moved from unloading zones to long-term parking.

After students settle in, the UTSA Admissions staff will host a Welcome Reception at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Aug. 22 for students and their family members. Held near the Sombrilla Plaza, the reception will include refreshments, fun freebies and an opportunity for new and returning students to relax and enjoy a performance by the Spirit of San Antonio, UTSA's award-winning marching band.
