Roadrunner Days: President's BBQs are Aug. 27 at Main, Downtown campuses
(Aug. 26, 2014) -- President Ricardo Romo will host two barbecue events on Wednesday, Aug. 27, as part of UTSA Roadrunner Days, the kick-off for the new academic year. UTSA students, faculty and staff are invited to the free events at the Main and Downtown campuses.
>> The President’s BBQ on the Plaza will be 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at Bill Miller Plaza on the Downtown Campus. There will be free t-shirts while the supply lasts.
>> From 4 to 5 p.m., see the unveiling of the Roadrunner statue in its permanent home at Sombrilla Plaza on the Main Campus. Then, attend the President's BBQ on the Lawn from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Convocation Center east lawn. Enjoy a free barbecue dinner and free t-shirts while the supply lasts. After new campus street signs are unveiled, be sure to stick around for the sounds of J. Greene and The Steady.
The official kick-off of the new academic year, UTSA Roadrunner Days continues through Aug. 29 at the Main and Downtown campuses. The events and activities give students an opportunity to take part in time-honored UTSA traditions and connect with UTSA resources.
