UTSA Libraries hosts GroupSpot kickoff Sept. 9 to celebrate new study space
(Sept. 9, 2014) -- UTSA Libraries will celebrate the opening of its newest study space with the GroupSpot Kickoff Party from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 9 in the GroupSpot room on the second floor of the John Peace Library on the Main Campus.
The GroupSpot kickoff promises an evening of fun with snacks, games and t-shirt giveaways. The party also provides a great way for students to learn about the room's state-of-the-art technology that supports group study and workspace collaboration.
The event will include:
- Free snacks and a popcorn machine
- Rowdy head t-shirt giveaways
- Giant board games
- Video games on large projector screens
- Music and dancing
- Photo booth
GroupSpot is an interactive study space that facilitates team engagement through small group tables equipped with laptops and shared displays. The room can hold 100 students with its 20 tables, each complete with five laptops and a 46-inch monitor.
During the fall, GroupSpot is open for students to use as a cooperative study space after 6 p.m. weeknights and on weekends. Weekdays before 6 p.m., the room will be used for instructional classes and programs.
