UTSA hosts parent summit on how to guide children to college and career success
(Sept. 2, 2014) -- The UTSA Office of P-20 Initiatives will host a P-20 summit, "Parent Engagement in Region 20," from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 6 in the Buena Vista Street Building Aula Canaria (1.328) at the UTSA Downtown Campus. The summit is free and open to the public; free parking will be available.
The event will offer information to parents about the skills needed for lifelong success, how to prepare children for new high school graduation requirements and how to actively participate in their child's academic success.
Parents will receive resources to help them become a leader at their child's school and learn how to guide them to college and career success. A college and career exhibit area also will be on display.
Event sponsors include UTSA, UTSA Academy for Teacher Excellence, UTSA Office of P-20 Initiatives, Texas A&M University, Alamo Colleges, Education Service Center Region 20 (ESC-20), P16Plus Council of Greater Bexar County and the Boerne Independent School District.
