UTSA to host Oct. 11 boot camp for technology entrepreneurs
(Oct. 8, 2014) -- The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) Center for Innovation and Technology Entrepreneurship (CITE) will host its biannual Technology Entrepreneurship Boot Camp, sponsored by Jackson Walker LLP, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 11 in the Business Building University Room (2.06.04) on the UTSA Main Campus.
This year's keynote speaker will be former District 3 Councilwoman Leticia Ozuna. Prior to these endeavors, Ozuna owned a software company that served customers with a focus in the defense and intelligence industries.
The daylong boot camp will offer participants an intense crash course on the start up and commercialization of a new business. Throughout the day, several experts from local companies will discuss essential technology entrepreneurship topics such as identifying opportunities, securing start-up funds, manufacturing products, writing business plans, pitching, marketing innovative ideas and protecting intellectual property.
Registration is free for UTSA students, faculty and staff, as well as students and faculty from other institutions of higher education. The cost for the general public is $95 and can be paid by cash or check starting at 8:30 a.m. the day of the event.
In addition to Jackson Walker LLP, the CITE Technology Entrepreneurship Boot Camp is co-sponsored by the UTSA College of Business, College of Engineering and Office of the Vice President for Research.
CITE is an interdisciplinary center of the UTSA College of Business and College of Engineering that fosters the growth of entrepreneurs and new technology-based ventures through education, experiences, resources and support.
