UTSA education college alumna named president of TACUSPA
(Oct. 31, 2014) -- Lisa McDougle, a UTSA College of Education and Human Development alumna, was named the 2014-2015 president of the Texas Association of College and University Student Personnel Administrators (TACUSPA). McDougle assumed the presidency during the 2014 TACUSPA conference in Arlington, Texas.
McDougle graduated from UTSA with a doctorate degree in educational leadership and policy studies (ELPS). Currently, she serves as the assistant dean of academic success and student affairs at the University of the Incarnate Word School of Physical Therapy.
John Kaulfus, current doctoral student in the college's Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies (ELPS), former UTSA associate dean of students and current assistant vice president and dean of students at Texas A&M University-Commerce, was president during the 2013-2014 school year.
Several UTSA leaders attended the conference, including Sam Gonzales, vice president for student affairs; Charlin Jones, assistant director of the Special Events Center; Jan McKinney, director of communication for student affairs; and Maricela Oliva, ELPS associate professor. Corey Benson, 2013 graduate of the ELPS Master of Education in Higher Education Administration program, was the recipient of the TACUSPA New Professionals Award.
The 2015 TACUSPA conference will be held Oct. 4-6 in Corpus Christi.
